what is etohum?

It is a platform aiming at associating investors, professionals and companies with young entrepreneurs who have knowledge and ideas about the new economy and who want to found their own companies.

30 invidual/team of applicants will attend the Internet enterprise education program and they will be coached while planning their business plans.  Once the preparation phase is finished, etohum will act as a launching pad, and provide a convenient environment for them to present their business plans to both individual and institutional investors.

Anyone who have new business ideas but has not started a company yet, or has this own internet company/enterprise but needs capital, management, marketing and other means of support, can apply for etohum.

Between August 2008 and May 2009, people desiring to be internet entrepreneurs, will find a proper entrepreneurship environment for education purposes. They will also have a chance for their business plans to be evaluated and assessed by companies, investors and other peers.

• We do not give out prizes.

There are many competitions about entrepreneurship but etohum is not intended to be a competition.  Its activities, include educating, directing entrepreneur candidates, introducing them with the right networks, and guiding them through realizing the internet company they envisioned.

We are not interested in your ideas. It is more important for us that you have the necessary properties of entrepreneur and you have the ability to accomplish a project. Therefore, we don’t want to learn what your internet idea is while you are applying. Your having knowledge/idea about the new economy and your passion in entrepreneurship means a lot more.

We don’t promise you money prize. We don’t think that you will have a large amount of material needs. However, we think that coming together with the network which will supply capital in your forward stages and invest in your business is more critical. We think that in internet enterprise the right sources are man power, creativity, energy and continuity. Right orientation, education, business environment and relationship with internet community will help more in founding the company you dreamed of and reaching the success.

etohum how?

etohum project started in the summer of 2008.  To be more beneficial for anyone, it is modeled after e-fikrim competition. From February 2008 to January 2009, in universities, companies and other public places, panels, forums and other meetings will be held and information about internet entrepreneurship will be provided to the participants.

Entrepreneurs may apply for etohum project as individual or teams. Face-to-face interviews and other types of communications will be organized with applicants who apply until January.

30 individuals/teams will be invited to “internet enterprise school”. After having many courses including business plan, project management, presentation methods etc, they will be directed and oriented while they are preparing their business plans and/or websites for the company they want to establish.

Internet company owners and professionals who are successful in technology and other areas will be invited to the education. Besides theoretical education, presentation of practical applications and experience will be provided. During this period candidates and company owners, professionals and trainers will have the chance to communicate with each other in warm environments such as breakfasts, dinners etc.

Business plans which will be prepared until the end of April, will be sent to companies and people who joined etohum project. Between February and April company owners and individual/institutional investors will be able to contact with young entrepreneurs and direct them. During this process, meetings will continue, entrepreneurs’ and teams’ developments will be followed. During or before this process preparing alfa/beta stages of their websites will be more efficient.

etohum steps

1. Candidates who have knowledge, ideas about internet will send their interactive resumes and they will answer questions about new economy.
2. Questions for figuring out entrepreneurs opinions about internet and new economy will be asked.
3. Applicants can apply as individual or as a team.
4. Among these resumes, candidates will be selected via email, video conference, phone etc.
5. Selected candidates will be trained in preparing business plans, business and project management, creativity, e-commerce, sales marketing, finance, accounting educations.
6. A time will be given for them to prepare their business plans and alpha/beta stages of their websites.
7. During their business plan and website opening process, they will be directed and supported.
8. Selected candidates and investors will come together in this process.
9. Entrepreneurs will present their projects to investors, companies, professionals and etohum management.
10. Companies, investors, and financiers can support and invest in any project they want.
11. etohum management, it they think it worths, will be partners to the projects. Moreover, they can make financial, legal, administrative, marketing and management support in founding the company.
